My mother bought me the "Answer To Everything" in 1964 and I was hooked big time!!

I saw Joe in the Tv Club and the Arcadia in Bray and many other places since  and I cannot believe I will never see him again.

I have his autograph which I got from him when I saw him as an 18 year old. My grandmother came from Mullingar and he was dead chuffed at that... That was in 1969 in Bray and sadly despite seeing millions of his shows I never got to meet him again.

He was an absolutely wonderful, sincere and down to earth human being and I wonder sometimes if he gave too much of himself and that caused him to become ill but as you say he would not have wanted to be hanging on in pain and discomfort.

I will never stop playing his songs. I still have all of his 45s including the first one my mother bought me and they will never leave my care, my daughters can have them when i am gone..
